Hi riders! As you get ready for the rally, here’s a quick guide to the common lexicons I use in the roadbook. These terms are simple and help make navigation clear while you’re riding.

📌 COMMON LEXICONS I USE:
– R or RO: Road
– P: Piste (track or dirt road)
– F: Follow
– Examples:
– FPP = Follow Primary Piste (main track)
– FRO = Follow Road

– kpS / kpR / kpL: Keep Straight, Keep Right, or Keep Left

– SA: Sand

📌 HOW TO READ A TULIP:
The tulip diagram in your roadbook is read from left to right. Each section has a specific meaning:
– Left block: Distances and waypoints.
– Middle block: Visual images, CAP headings, and icons (CAP headings in bright yellow).
– Right block: Instructions – read this like a sentence.
– Example: ET means “and”, and AT means “at”. You can spell out a full instruction from this.

📌 SIMPLE EXAMPLE:
– FPP KpL
Meaning: Follow the main track and keep left.

📌 COMPLEX EXAMPLE:
– KpS ET AT 50m SA ET KpL 215A
Meaning: Keep straight, and at 50 meters, there is sand. Then keep left and exit at a heading of 215° average CAP.

💡 Rampage Rides Tip:
We keep our roadbook instructions as simple as possible to make them easy to follow, even while riding. But if you’re unsure about how to read any instructions, feel free to ask before the ride!

Ride safe and see you at the start line!
