The Rampage One-Day Challenge (ODC) is more than just an event—it's a stepping stone into the thrilling Rampage ODC Championship 2025. Designed for adventure bike riders, these one-day rally events combine navigation, endurance, and technical skill into a true Dakar-inspired experience. Riders can participate as Rampage members or private entrants without membership, and you can even choose not to compete in the championship—though it’s more fun to join the action!

The Rampage Championship brings together all the ODC events of 2025, culminating in an annual scoreboard tracking times, penalties, and scores. This makes for a full year of exciting rally challenges on your adventure bike, pushing your skills to new levels while fostering camaraderie and fun.

The 2025 Rallye Raid remains in the picturesque mountains of Hogsback for the 8th year and counting! The beautiful Arminel Hotel will once again be the headquarters for 200 Adventure bikers. Mike has some great plans for scenic routes through the lush Amatola forests. Hogsback, and its immediate surroundings of Katberg, Cathcart, Stutterheim, Thomas River, all with their own signature tracks, make this Adventure Bike heaven! Entry into the Arminel Hotel is based on the order of entry and the overflow will go into nearby hotels, arranged by our Red Cherry Events logistics team. Breakfast is served at your respective hotel and lunch is provided en route. We will all end a great day on the bike with supper in the “Chill Zone”. Look forward to great grub, live music, vibey bartenders (with great specials) & lucky draws each evening.

As a racer, we are all too familiar with that feeling of sitting on the start line, heart pounding, and wondering what challenges lie ahead. Well in the Giants Adventure Rally, you can rest assured that it will be epic. Big skies, big trees, big country, and big game. The concept for the Giants Adventure Rally is ‘BIG’, and to maintain the theme of the event, the race will kick off just outside Botswana’s biggest city, Gaborone. With the Mighty Solomon’s Wall as the ultimate bearing, competitors will have to navigate 3 days (with an optional 4th day) of the most epic Southern African landscape. Day 1 kicks off in spectacular fashion just outside of Gaborone. After tucking in behind the bars and charging down the open bushveld, participants will face typical Desert Race type terrain for 130km. Shifting between 3rd and 4th gear, competitors will work their way through non-fenced tribal land, following the Ngotwane River as they find their flow and prepare for the ‘special’ that awaits them along the way. Emerging from the 1st Ross Branch marked timed stage, competitors will continue to work their way towards the confluence of Ngotwane and Limpopo Rivers. Arriving at the most magical open grass area alongside the river, participants will be able to take a well-deserved tea break and refuel their bikes and bodies before continuing. From the break, the track heads through the Ngotwane river and picks up the famous Pioneers Road as it heads into a large private game farm. On this legendary trail, those on bikes will have in their mind, TswanaFuel’s star-finding initiative – a great opportunity to pioneer their way into the international rally scene. The track continues to meander through the game farm, sticking close to the river. The road crosses into another private game farm for a short time, before moving on to a farm belonging to the De Vrye, one of our current sponsors through De Vre Transport. Competitors will be hoping to still have some energy in reserve at this stage, as they will face a mixture of open flood plain and more technical jeep track, for their 2nd special of the day.

South Africa has been selected to host a round of the highly acclaimed World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC), which was first launched at the 2022 Dakar Rally, with the series attracting the world’s leading superstars on two and four wheels. The announcement made on the eve of Rallye du Maroc, the final round of the 2024 W2RC season from 5 to 11 October 2024 in the Kingdom of Morocco, heralds a new era for South African Motorsport and the South African Rally-Raid championship. The South African Safari, round three of the 2025 W2RC is scheduled to take place from 18 to 24 May 2025 and will be preceded by round one and two of the championship, which kicks off with the celebrated 2025 Dakar Rally before heading to Abu Dhabi in late February. “This is an extremely exciting and very proud moment for us as organisers of the SA Rally-Raid Championship (SARRC), the numerous South Africans competing in the Dakar Rally and other international events,” said an elated Archie Rutherford, SARRC CEO. “My team put a lot of hard work, long hours and dedicated planning into Event Zero, the TGRSA Safari 1000 in June, and the outcome could not be more rewarding,” he said. The event, in collaboration with Motorsport SA (MSA) and endorsed by the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) – the governing bodies of all global motorsport, and Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO), the promoter of the W2RC and the organiser of the Dakar Rally, will be hosted in the North West and Limpopo provinces of South Africa. Race headquarters and associated event facilities will be based at the world-renowned Sun City complex adjacent to the Pilanesberg National Park. This unique event will feature diverse terrain, with the race route traversing some of the most stunning bushveld plateaus, river crossings, and savannah plains, encompassing an exceptional experience for all in the areas of Sun City, Thabazimbi and the agricultural heart of North West. South Africa and the SARRC has a proud reputation in the international world rally raid arena with no less than 50% of vehicles competing in the iconic Dakar Rally and the esteemed W2RC events designed, developed and built in South Africa. “The SARRC field is arguably the strongest of all the national rally-raid championships globally, with the growth of the championship at a sporting and economic level very positive and encouraging.” “We look forward to a hugely successful inaugural W2RC event in our beautiful country in May 2025 and to welcoming the visiting teams and their supporters to our magnificent haven – South Africa,” concluded Rutherford.

WHERE IN THE WORLD? Where in the world can you ride your dirt bike at night and still have a shadow close beside you in the middle of the night. There is only one place – The Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, Botswana. Fondly known as Moonlight, this event is a dirt bike and music festival on the remote and vast nothingness landscape of the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, in Botswana. At this year’s edition, we will spare no expense on both the music festival side of the event and the Freestyle Motocross Shows. We have curated an incredible lineup of artists from various genres to ensure that there is something for everyone at the music festival. Additionally, the Freestyle Motocross Shows will feature some of the most talented riders in Southern Africa, performing jaw-dropping stunts that will leave the audience in awe. The event is dubbed as a “dirt biker’s dream event” where riders can ride their bike further than the eye can see – they will run out of fuel before they run out of space to ride! And get this, riding takes place at night under the full moon, with the pans reflecting the moonlight in shades of blue hue – no lights needed.
